Today is the first day of classes at AMECO. We left the hotel at about 8am and travelled by coach to AMECO. It was a short 10-minute journey. We were briefed about safety in AMECO, the aviation regulations in China and the purpose and use of the aircraft and engine maintenance manuals in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations.

At about 11.45am, we broke for lunch. Each of us were given a stored value card to buy food at the cafeteria, with a budget of 13 yuan per person per meal. It was an experience dining at the cafeteria! It was fully packed with people and it was shoulder to shoulder in the queue for food, with people pushing you forward from behind. Almost all the food was gone in 40 minutes.
